Hello and welcome to my site, my name is Silas Fallstich and I am a landscape, wildlife and at a moment’s notice photographer.
My ambition in photography is to find and capture moments that contain an aesthetic energy that cannot be ignored and represent those moments to you through my eye and lens. I want the awe inspiring beauty of countless landscapes to be available to anyone that desires to see them.
When viewing my photography I hope that you can be transported to the moment within each capture, so that you can personalize the experience of each image and enjoy the image yourself, with your own tastes, objections, likes and dislikes. I aspire to transport you elsewhere through my images.
While the ultimate goal of my photography is enjoyment, I also feel an important message is that of protection and conservation. Through my photography I hope to instill in you and others a respect for the land so that it can be protected and conserved for others.
Within each image I hope to not only capture each moment but hope to convey, through the image, the energy and experience that existed at the time of the capture. My images are sometimes robustly edited and at other times edited minimally, my eye and editing is a reflection of how an image influences me and how I wish to convey that moment to you.
As I’ve progressed as a photographer I’ve tried to convey what knowledge I have gained to others. Hoping that the bits and pieces of photography I’ve learned can be useful to others. A friend of mine once asked me, “When did you get into photography?” At the time I didn’t have an answer but upon great reflection I have concluded the following:
“I never got into photography. Photography has been and always will be a part of me. I didn’t always own a camera, but I’ve always carried a desire to capture the world around me and to share those moments with others. Without photography I wouldn’t be me.”
One of the main reasons I pursue photography is because I know that some people are unable to go the places I’ve gone, my hope is that I can share not only the places I visit but the experiences I have with you.
